Essentials of HIV Medicine: A unique self-paced online course

The Mayo Clinic HIV eCurriculum Series is a comprehensive HIV curriculum designed to assist the HIV medical care provider on a life-long journey of learning. The curriculum delivers relevant, practical, and tailored education as a series of courses encompassing the whole spectrum of HIV Medicine. Essentials of HIV Medicine is the first course in the Mayo Clinic HIV eCurriculum Series. It is comprised of 13 modules that address essential general HIV knowledge.
The important features of the Essentials of HIV Medicine are:
•Participants are required to perform a one-time simple registration process for the course. During this process, a log-in ID and a password is set up. Participants access the course through a password-protected portal using their established log-in ID and password.
•Participants are required to progress sequentially from the first module to the next, and not haphazardly from topic to topic.
•Participants are not expected to peruse the educational content online; the intent of the program is that the content is printed off and reviewed at the participant’s leisure.
•Once participants complete reviewing the module content, they are required to log in again and respond to post test questions before they can progress to the next module.
•At the completion of the entire course, CME credit and a certificate of attendance/completion is awarded from the Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development.
