Management of VTE in Cancer Patients

This activity will address the patient-related and disease-related factors that increase the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in cancer patients. Emphasis is placed on identifying cancer patients who should receive VTE prophylaxis. Clinicians will hear about the benefits of pharmacologic prophylaxis along with the understanding that it is appropriate in most cases. Correct regimens and tailoring expert guidelines will be explained. Finally, clinicians will learn how to correctly evaluate the risks each patient faces and how to strike an appropriate balance between risks and balances.
