Gastroenterology Virtual Clinic: Focus on IBD

This web and mobile-device enabled IBD Virtual Clinic provides clinicians with a unique opportunity to improve both treatment adherence and patient outcomes. Narrated and guided by faculty experts, the IBD Virtual Clinic provides an excellent opportunity for physicians to participate in virtual patient cases and witness optimal treatment approaches as practiced by the faculty in the clinical setting.  The IBD Virtual Clinic’s innovative online format allows clinicians to access this CME activity any time and anywhere, optimizing their time to help guide informed treatment and management decisions for their patients. 

This activity is jointly provided by Indiana University and the Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning and supported by educational grants from AbbVie Inc., Shire, and UCB, Inc.

Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:


  • Analyze therapeutic IBD options for various patient populations in the context of treatment guidelines and algorithms
  • Apply knowledge of IBD medications (mechanisms of action, dosing regimens, safety profiles, and evidence of effectiveness) in order to tailor therapy to the individual patient
  • Implement evidence-based methods and patient education to help optimize IBD treatment strategies and quality of life


This activity is intended for gastroenterologists and other physicians who manage patients with IBD.
