Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration: A Case-based Discussion

 The goal of this activity is to examine the most pressing issues in the treatment of AMD through a discussion of cases often seen in clinical practice regarding advances in the treatment of wet AMD and its evolving treatment paradigm.  


Through the use of cases/sample scenarios, participants should be able to:
  • Review the benefits and drawbacks of the 3 main treatment options for AMD
  • Compare and contrast the anti-VEGF agents with respect to comparative safety and efficacy to better define optimal treatment strategies for long-term management of patients with wet AMD
  • Evaluate refinements to AMD therapeutic dosing regimens to decrease the treatment burden while maintaining visual benefits and managing safety concerns in patients being treated for AMD
  • Discuss clinical trial results and latest advancements on how anti-VEGF and other therapies may be used in patients with wet AMD


This activity is designed for ophthalmologists and retina eye specialists who in the course of their specialty clinical practice, treat and manage patients with age-related macular degeneration.
